1. How l do I get my painting project started?

Great question, firstly give LMF a call, we are more than happy to discuss your painting project with you. Then we can visit the project space and organise to provide you with a complimentary quote. Depending on the value of the project a trade contract may be prepared for you by us. We will email you a digital quote. Once approved our friendly team will book a time in that suits you to start your project.

2. What is a professional painter?

A professional painter is a tradesman who has completed years of experience on the job informal training and usually a tertiary painting qualification at a trade college. Why is this important? Merely having experience will not guarantee that you will be approved as a licensed painter. There is much to learn in correct preparation techniques, proper material usage, application methods, safety and business acumen. Painting and decorating is a real trade and should be completed by professionals.

3. What kind of painting does LMF do?

LMF Gold Coast Painters are highly skilled professional tradesmen. So, we take our trade seriously. We have over 15 years experience painting and decorating. Our team have worked with some of the best designers in Australia, celebrity homes and managed national trust projects. So we bring all of that experience to your painting project. Which means you will get the best result. We specialise in interior paint work including residential, commercial and heritage. LMF are highly skilled in exterior painting also. Additionally, team are skilled decorators, creating special wall finishes, stucco, hand painted designs, faux finishes etc.

4. How long will the project take?

This is dependant on the scale of the painting project and the complexity. Further, the condition of the surfaces and whether or not restoration and repair is needed first.

5. How much will it cost?

6. Are LMF licensed and insured?

Yes as professional painters we are fully licensed and insured. We administer trade contracts with our customers where appropriate. And we have provision for home builders warranty insurance depending on the project.

7. Will my home or project space be protected?

Yes, your home or project space will be protected. We use carefully placed drop sheets. Our work site is clean and free from dust. Our team are neat, trustworthy and professional. They are non smokers, tidy and polite.

8. What kind of preparation is involved before painting?

Surface preparation is crucial to achieving a high quality paint finish. The team may need to sand, patch or prime the surface or cracks before painting. More extensive repair may require our plasters to repair the surface. Mold or rust proofing may be needed depending on the project. Certain timber finishes may require specialist application techniques. Depending on the project numerous undercoats and top coats may be required. Decorative finishing might involve polishing and appicatiojn of bees wax.

9. What is a decorative finish?

A decorative finish is a design, a specialised paint finish or technique of application to your project. Popular in many Architectural or celebrity homes has been our stucco finishing, which is a multi-step process. Involving spatular stucco application, polishing and wax. Other decorative finishing might be hand painted custom designs, or hand painted wall paper or art accent finishes or faux.

10. Do I have to buy my own materials?

We take care of this for you. Out team have extensive product knowledge and will obtain all the correct materials for the painting project.

11. Can I do the project myself?

DIY has become popular over the years. You may be able to paint a wall yourself. However, we often find doing this you end up with patchy finishes, overrun, messy corners. The finish often doesn’t last and doesn’t look professional which affects the value and appearance of your property. Further, timber surfaces and joinery can go very wrong when not painted properly. Also, surface preparation is vital, patching, repair, sanding, priming and protecting the surface prior to painting.
